Pray without ceasing…
When we are faced with the unthinkable and feel that our current situation is impossible to bear, that the Lord has allowed far more than we can tolerate, let us remember the countless times He has brought us out of the mire of life. He did it before He will do it again…call on His name , and rest in Him. He was able to lead us then. He will lead us again –into His light. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.
A Word About the Elements of Prayer:
There are two elements of prayer:
…where we speak to God
…where God speaks to us
We may feel that the most important aspect of prayer is letting God know what we need (the ‘speaking part’ of prayer). He already knows. He still wants us to ask: asking demonstrates to Him that we love and trust Him to direct our way. Listening for the still, small voice of God is exquisitely important. It is the ‘listening part’ of prayer that offers the soul nourishment: it is where God’s Holy Spirit hovers over us and fills us with God’s presence and peace. It is there, in those quiet moments with the Lord that He draws us nearer to Himself and His embrace
How sweet is the song of His name! The name of Jesus is our song. The person and Spirit of Jesus comes to us as a song on a rainy, gray day as His melody flows to our soul and lifts us up, refreshes and renews. He is our great God!
I feel that wherever I stand is a sanctuary, a holy place where I can sing to the Lord.
Psalm 6 : I will sing to the Lord for He has dealt bountifully with me.
Psalm 104: 33, 34: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to Him.
